It’s Hard to Concentrate Today!

A couple additions to our fridge.

For the last two weeks, my refrigerator has been devoid of two staples of the past four years: Watermelon chunks and Simply Lemonade.

Now both of those are back. Why? Because my #1 son is coming home today for the long Labor Day weekend!! If he needs the comforts of home, he will have them . . . at least for a little while.

When I chatted with him briefly yesterday, he said he was looking forward to one thing: Our traditional Friday night dinner at Pei Wei. Nothing says “home” to us like our favorite Asian restaurant!

What I’m looking forward to is talking to my older son about college: His classes, his professors, his classmates. What’s been a hard transition; what’s been easy. We’ve been texting back and forth, but there’s only so much you can “say” until you get really tired of that mode of communication.

To me, there’s nothing like talking face to face.

My #1 son and his beautiful blue eyes

And, of course, staring into his gorgeous blue eyes.
