This is what winter looks like in the chilly Houston area today.

The bald cypress trees are the few that change color.

Our usually mild temperatures dropped from a high yesterday of 81 (very muggy for my morning jog) to a bone-chilling, gusty 39 degrees this morning.

These leaves are on the reddish end of the color spectrum.

It’s downright cold and gloomy.

At least there’s some contrast with the green.

But at least the bald cypress trees in our neighboring master-planned community have punches of color among the overwhelming green. Never thought I’d be thankful for brown!
